Maria's First time to the Snow
Valentine's Day - 2009
It finally snowed! After a really dry start to the winter, the mountains got a lot of snow over the past week. The snow fell very low, about 1500' elevation. On Valentine's day, we took the girls up the hill to Colfax (which is not very far up the hill) and found a nice patch of snow in a McDonald's parking lot. This was perfect and convenient with about 8 inches of fresh snow on the ground and the convenience of food and warmth nearby should the girls get cold.
We bundled up the girls and had over an hour of fun. Maria was wearing Alyssa's snow gear from when she was 2! Our little Maria-bug is growing very fast...she is always hungry and thirsty. She started walking a few weeks ago and now motors across the room. She was a bit unsure of how to step in the snow, but soon stumbled around before plopping head first into the powder. She had a fun time and sister Alyssa just loved the snow.
